Software Quality Engineer
As a Software Quality Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Software Quality Assurance activities throughout the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will ensure compliance with organizational processes, customer-specific engineering requirements, and international software quality and safety standards across Automotive and Railway product development projects. The role is responsible for driving compliance with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) Version 3.1 & Version 4.0, ISO 26262 Functional Safety, ISO/SAE 21434 Road Vehicle Cybersecurity, EN 50657:2017, EN 50716:2023 Railway Software Development, customer-specific engineering requirements (KGAS, CSRs), and the organization's Integrated Management System (IMS).
Responsibilities
- Ensure project compliance with Automotive SPICE Version 3.1 and Version 4.0.
- Support projects in achieving ASPICE Capability Level (CL2 & CL3) targets.
- Ensure software development processes comply with EN 50657:2017 and EN 50716:2023 requirements for railway applications.
- Support software projects in complying with ISO 26262 Functional Safety requirements.
- Verify implementation of safety lifecycle activities and review Functional Safety work products.
- Support implementation of ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity engineering processes.
- Perform Process Compliance Checks (PCC), Internal assessments and Process Spot Checks.
- Ensure end-to-end bidirectional traceability across all engineering work products.
- Evaluate implementation of Base Practices (BPs) and Generic Practices (GPs).
- Monitor process performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support external assessment preparation and readiness reviews.
- Participate in internal and external ASPICE assessments with customers (VW group, Ford, GM, JLR, Audi)
- Able to interact directly with customers to clarify, implement, and validate customer requirements (KGAS, CSRs) within project processes.
- Review assessment findings and drive closure of identified gaps.
- Support implementation of lessons learned from assessments.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in software quality engineering, preferably in automotive and locomotive projects.
- Hands-on experience with ASPICE assessments and process deployment.
- Strong knowledge of ASPICE 3.1 and ASPICE 4.0.
- ASPICE Provisional/Competent Assessor certification preferred.
- Strong Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity), EN 50657_2017 and EN50716_2023(locomotive).
- Knowledge of MISRA, coding standards, traceability, verification and validation practices.
- Ability to define and tailor development processes to meet QA, safety, and security requirements.
- Experience with tools such as Polarion, JIRA, Git, Jenkis, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB/Simulink, Coverity, VectorCAST, Confluence.
- Strong moderation and coaching skills to support technical teams.
